
RECYCLED FUN
Few recycling workshops were held through Wheels Within Wheels Project. Young people from Permit High School, Christ Church and Ghousia Mosque enjoyed learning how to amend old/scrap quad bikes donated by Police. It was followed up by a supervised fun activity when young people use these mud buggies in the field. Youth groups also had speakers educating youngsters about what is the importance of looking after the environment in their faith accordingly. Youngsters were encouraged to take positive actions towards reducing carbon footprint.

PEACE GARDEN PATHWAY
As a part of the World Environment Day Celebration, girls guide group took the lead in one day planting workshop in their Church Peace Garden. A senior citizen from St Mary's Church, Sylvia Davy says; "It was a great success as all participants thoroughly enjoyed it and all the girls are delighted that their efforts will be witnessed by the community during our village garden festival".

MY OFFICE IN THE GARDEN
Chicken Hill Gardens project has successfully completed the allotment project and manage to engage many organisations and local people in their growing activities. Cog Lane residents association is rapidly increasing its reputation for offering a helping hand for needy people in the locality. They want to help some people to find their way to education and employment. To serve the purpose a work base unit was installed with the support of F4C Development Fund. This work base unit allows to accommodate many organisations to hold surgeries, run trainings and workshops for unemployed and other community groups. We also will be offering the facilities for small groups to attend trainings delivered by Faiths4Change.
HEALTHY GREENS
Women Centre in Burnley is aiming to provide a 'Safe Haven' for women where they can come and socialise and make friends. With the financial support from Faiths4Change they were able to introduce gardening which was took on board by members with great interest. Margaret Foster facilitated the gardening workshops and activities on allotment. Women Centre is also setting up weekend workshops for children on their allotments. Participants have found the whole process from planting the seed to harvesting the produce, highly fascinating. One lady said; “Time spent relaxing in a garden it truly priceless, especially for us ladies who have a hectic modern lifestyle”.
WOOD BE GOOD
This project involves managing woodland sustainably and diverting timber from landfill. The project received funding from Faiths4Change to purchase a mobile Planking Machine and associated equipment. 50% of volunteers receiving training will be unemployed.
