Energy and Environmental Audit
Faith buildings, like all other buildings, have an impact upon our environment. The use of water and energy, creation & disposal of waste adds to our global climate problem. Developing a better understanding of how we use our buildings and what resources we use, enables us to manage and reduce our impacts and save money.
The Faiths4Change Energy and Environmental Audit will help you to identify wastage providing a starting point to reduce energy consumption, lower your CO2 emissions, and use water more carefully, whilst also thinking about how any waste may be better managed.
We’ll come and spend a day with you and look at how your building is being used and the heating and lighting, water and waste. You’ll need to provide us with information such as utility bills and meter readings.
We’ll provide you with a detailed report based upon the observations made and analysis of information which will highlight areas of good stewardship as well as areas to be addressed to lower your carbon and environmental footprints and your financial costs.
Following on from the audit and report, we’ll continue to analyse your energy consumption so that from start to finish of the process you’ll have a better understanding of how your building is performing and as a consequence you’ll be able to determine if you are burning money or making savings that could be put to good use elsewhere.
We’re working with a number of faith communities at the moment and expect to make this service available across the North West in November.

United Utilities
The first half of 2010 was the driest period for the North West since our rainfall records began 74 years ago and some of our reservoirs are still lower than they should be for this time of year. Have a look at the United Utilities Use Water Wiselypage for details on how you can pledge to reduce water wastage and give yourself the chance to win a great prize!
